Who We Are and What We Do

Chartered in the State of Ohio in 2003, the Westwood Historical Society is a 501(c)3 charitable, non-profit organization of volunteers.  We are dedicated to discovering, understanding, collecting, preserving, and sharing the histories, documents, and historical resources related to Westwood's past and present.  This information is often the focus of membership meetings or addressed in the Westwood Historical Society's newsletter which is published five times a year as one of the benefits of membership.

The Westwood Historical Society encourages preservation of Westwood's Town Center Historic District and the homes and properties that make Westwood unique.  We encourage thoughtful and sensitive restoration, renovation, and adaptation of homes and other local buildings to maintain and improve the character and beauty of Westwood

The Westwood Historical Society sponsors the Westwood Home Tour every two to three years to showcase a broad range of Westwood homes and the stories behind them.  We also actively participate in Westwood community events, often in collaboration with other Westwood organizations as a way to promote the community at large and to celebrate Cincinnati's largest neighborhood.

Membership Meetings
Meetings are free.  Unless otherwise noted, the public is welcome and encouraged to attend!
  • Meetings are on the second Wednesday, nine months of the year (no meetings are held in January, June, or August).
  • Meetings generally start at 7 pm.  They are frequently held at Westwood First Presbyterian Church (3011 Harrison Avenue).  Exceptions occur.  Please check Events to confirm time and place.
